  1. I did not like what he had to say and I would not have voted for him if I could

    1. What did you not like about what he said in this video?

He said he wanted Speaker Straus to be consistent. Do you not want him to be consistent?

He said he is getting well acquainted with Straus? Do you not want our Representative to be well acquainted with the third most powerful man in the state?

He said Straus talks about budget transparency, education funding, and transportation funding. Are you against these things?

Please clarify. You are making unfounded attacks on conservative Rep.-elect Schaefer.

I don't mind him being well acquainted with Struas. But, should he be the third most powerful man in the state? It sure sounds like Rep.-Elect Shaefer doesn't mind it being that way.

Yes he talked about transparency, but what does that say about his stance, President Obama talks about gun rights, health care and collage.

Please analyze his speech without any bias.

  2. I'm not really sure what to think about, Rep. elect Schaefer's speech. It did sound like he would vote for Straus though I pray he won't.

    1. Simply because Schaefer indicated Straus conveyed to him things he liked does not mean he will vote for Speaker Straus. In my opinion the only thing he implied was he hopes if Straus is reelected Speaker he remains consistent.

  3. It is hard to support the current speaker based on his liberal record, particularly after he voiced opposition to serious conservative leaders and their agenda in "private emails gone viral". I think Rep. Schaefer, being the new kid on the block, is trying hard not to alienate anyone so early in the game. He is exercising diplomacy. I believe Rep. Schaefer is a true conservative and will vote like one, but if not, we will all know soon enough. He knows his constituency and why he was elected. Let's see what he will do.

    1. I believe we should allow Rep.-elect Schaefer the opportunity to serve before we make final judgment as well. I do not believe he will vote for our current Speaker, and if he does he will hear about it from the grassroots conservatives.

It would be a shame if Rep.-elect Schaefer made everyone dislike him before day 1, so I'm glad he is trying to be diplomatic, as you said. We will find out on January 8 his true intentions when the House elects the Speaker.
