A Hope for the Hopeless

Note: This remarkable essay was authored by Anna Baber. It explores the issue of abortion and introduces two women fighting for the unborn child's right to life.

INTRODUCTION

How many of you know of Gianna Jessen or Lila Rose? They are individuals who believe abortion and the mission of Planned Parenthood is wrong. Plenty believe abortion is wrong, so the question that everyone asks: Why are 4000 babies aborted every day? Sometimes those against abortion do nothing about it, except for Gianna Jessen and Lila Rose, who are actively fighting abortion.

WARRIORS FOR THE PRO-LIFE MOVEMENT

Gianna Jessen

Gianna Jessen survived an abortion when her seventeen-year-old mother was seven months pregnant. She aborted Gianna by saline injection, where saline is injected into the uterus. Only a few hours later she was supposed to give birth to a dead baby. Instead, Gianna was born alive.
Because of the abortion, Gianna has cerebral palsy. She can walk, however and doesn’t have much brain damage.
She moved through multiple homes before finally getting adopted by Diana DePaul.
Diana told Gianna about her abortion when she was twelve years old. Gianna didn’t feel any bitterness; instead accepted a unique reason for her cerebral palsy.
Soon her story started to get out. She became very involved in pro-life causes and spoke often about her testimony and the gospel. She has a beautiful voice and wonderful stage presence.
Jessica Shaver Renshaw, author of Gianna, writes about one of the youth rallies she held.
“Here was one who had been rejected and could still love, who had suffered and yet did not want revenge, who had been put to death and yet lived. A girl who limped and got colds and lost her train of thought and fell down at awkward moments—a girl as vulnerable as each girl there—and yet she thanked God for life.”
As Gianna puts it, “I’m an ordinary girl who came into the world in an extraordinary way.”
Gianna’s story shows millions of people that a baby is a baby from conception. Her story reflects the forgiving nature of God, when she completely forgave her birth mother for aborting her.

Lila Rose

Lila Rose is an undercover pro-life investigator, disguising herself and going into abortion clinics, saying she is pregnant. She has camcorders hidden on her person, recording what counselors say to her.
This is a clip from a World Magazine article by Alisa Harris.
I will pick up right after Lila Rose disguised as a fourteen-year-old said that she was pregnant with her 31-year-old boyfriend’s child.
“When the [abortion] counselor told the girl that her parents needed to give consent to her abortion the girl asked, ‘Can we talk about that more? Because I…don’t want my parents to know.’  The counselor told her to talk to the health counselor manager: ‘I know sometimes she does bend the rules a little bit.’ Then she assured the girl that Planned Parenthood can’t disclose anything that happens within its walls to the 14-year-old’s parents, and that anyone with the same last name can sign.”
According to the article, a parent must consent to a miner’s abortion, not just anyone with the same last name. An adult who made a minor pregnant had abused her, and that must be immediately reported to the law enforcement.
She posted the recordings on YouTube, exposing what really goes on behind closed doors.
Planned Parenthood wants to get Rose sued or in jail. They have posted pictures of her as a blonde as well as a brunette in their offices so that workers can recognize her when she’s undercover.
Rose’s story is one of courage and determination to bring Planned Parenthood to its knees.

CONCLUSION

We need more people like Lila Rose and Gianna Jessen who are willing to risk persecution to fight for the unborn. Let us try to be like them. Without warriors, we will lose the battle. We can’t leave a handful of people to fight the battle all Christians should be fighting. And with God on our side, we are sure to succeed.
So let us be a voice for the voiceless and a hope for the hopeless.

  1. Isn't it awful that the country where we live allows people to poison their unborn children?

  2. Well, I don't see what's wrong with abortion. Even if it actually is murder, the Texas Legislature has actually passed a resolution honoring a murderer.

    1. Texas Legislature is not holy. It's not perfect, and though I'm proud of my state, it does make horrible mistakes. Just because fit's a law doesn't mean it's right. As in Gianna Jessen's story above, she was aborted, but lived. That's proof that a baby is a baby from conception. Killing another person is murder. Do you think murder is right?

    2. I think our anonymous friend is being sarcastic. The situation to which he was referring was a test by a state legislator who was seeing if he could actually get that resolution passed. He was trying to prove you and get anything through a legislative body.

  3. Challenging the person second to comment, I would like to ask you if you think it's alright for a man to run into a house and shoot someone. A.K.A murder someone. Is it not true that even if the Texas Legislature has passed a resolution honoring a murderer, that it could still be wrong? Since when does the Texas Legislature declare what is right and wrong? If one cannot see that murder itself is wrong, what ground does one stand? How can one say stealing, lying, cheating, unfairness, etc., is wrong if they do not see that murdering a child or anyone is wrong? What moral basis does one have?

  4. Good job with your article, Anna! I am proud of the stand you are taking for what is right. Every life is sacred; every life is beautiful.

Adding a little comment here, did you know abortion was the direct result of racism and Darwin's evolution? It was intended to be used to destroy the "lower classes", which we know don't exist. Every person is our equal and beloved in the sight of God. Keep it up, Anna!

    1. That is correct. In fact, the founder of Planned Parenthood was incredibly racist. She wanted to "exterminate" the "unfit." Isn't it hypocritical that liberals advocate for Planned Parenthood but claim to be the anti-racism party?

    2. No I didn't know that. That's interesting, ironic and awful. Abortion is just such a horrific act--there aren't words to describe how sinful it is! For nearly all babies, I found in my research, the death is painful. All they ever know is pain--and then they're gone. It's so horrible.

    3. Liberals know that, Anna, but they simply don't care. I have heard on conservative talk radio, the only place you will hear it, a few of the methods abortionists use. It is common sense the subject of such a grisly murder would feel pain, yet when conservatives point this out, liberals and most libertarians would look at us like bugs under glass.
