New Jersey senator coming under fire

Senator Bob Menendez, D-N.J., is in the hot seat after it was been confirmed by witnesses he indeed took a trip to the Dominican Republican in 2008. Click here to read the story from Fox News. I did not want to write about this story because until now I thought it was speculation, but Senator Menendez' ethical standing is in question in my mind. There are witnesses who say he took several trips on a private plane to the Dominican Republican and was involved in other financial activity that was unreported. Some believe he engaged in meretricious activity with underage individuals while in the Dominican Republican. We need to keep an eye on this story, because if there are ethical problems with Sen. Menendez, they need to be taken care of immediately. If he did engage in meretricious behavior with children, he should go to prison. This is not something over which we should speculate, but we need to be aware. It is not beyond human nature.

  1. For those of you reading this who don't know what meretricious means, here's the definition:

    1: of or relating to a prostitute : having the nature of prostitution
